HCOS is excited to announce that we are the 2023 recipient of the Paul Wiseman Conservation Education Grant. This is a generous gift of $15,000USD ($20,000 Canadian) from the Keta Legacy Foundation to our HCOS Bamfield immersive experience program. HCOS thanks the Keta Legacy Foundation for this exciting gift.

The Keta Legacy Foundation (formerly the Mountaineers Foundation) was founded in 1968 by a small group of conservation-minded leaders who wanted to educate people on the values provided by the mountains, forests, and waters of the Pacific Northwest. These visionaries recognized the need to preserve the natural beauty and ecological integrity for future generations.

For more than 50 years, this volunteer-led Foundation has combined an unwavering dedication to restoring and preserving the vibrant ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest with their desire to connect people of all ages to the outdoors.
